The Sutong Bridge, located in the Nantong section of the Yangtze River in southeastern Jiangsu Province, connects the cities of Suzhou and Nantong. Its northern approach links to the “Horizontal Three” line of Jiangsu’s main highway framework—the Ning (Nanjing)-Tong (Nantong)-Qi (Qidong) Expressway—and connects with the Lian (Lianyungang)-Yan (Yancheng)-Tong (Nantong) Expressway. The southern approach connects to the “Link Three” line—the Taicang to Jiangyin section of the Sutong Bridge Expressway—and links with the Su (Suzhou)-Jia (Jiaxing)-Hang (Hangzhou) Expressway. Built to a six-lane, two-way highway standard, the approach roads have a subgrade width of 35 meters, while the bridge itself spans 34 meters wide. The northern approach is 15.1 km long, the southern approach is 9.2 km, and the cross-river bridge stretches 8.146 km, with the main bridge spanning 2,088 meters and a main span of 1,088 meters. The bridge was completed and opened to traffic on June 30, 2008. After a decade of operation, the original power monitoring system became obsolete. GWDR’s newly designed cloud platform, utilizing a server cluster and Linux system deployment, supports both web and app access. This enhances the reliability, safety, and advancement of the power supply and distribution system, improving production and management efficiency, automating highway management, reducing the workload of maintenance staff, minimizing the need for on-duty personnel, and lowering operational and maintenance costs.
